Folk i alle aldre rammes, men hovedsageligt patienter over 60 \u00e5r. Tre m\u00e5neder senere lider omkring 10 % stadig af POCD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afh\u00e6ngigt af deres generelle helbredstilstand, alder, tidligere sygdomme og operationens omfang, uddannelsesniveau, men ogs\u00e5 afh\u00e6ngigt af de anvendte narkotiske stoffer, repr\u00e6senterer det normalt en <a href=\"http:\/\/Cognitive dysfunction 1\u20132 years after non-cardiac surgery in the elderly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">midlertidigt<\/a> Forringelse af kognitive funktioner (f.eks. hukommelse, koncentration, indl\u00e6ringsevne).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Risikoen for, at POCD opst\u00e5r, kan estimeres ved hj\u00e6lp af forskellige tests f\u00f8r og efter operationen.
